Park City dentist Dr. Michael Knight is a “native Texan” from Lubbock, TX, and is a graduate of Texas Tech University and Baylor College of Dentistry. While at Baylor, he was named the “Outstanding Dentist in Pediatric Dentistry” by the faculty at graduation. He has been practicing dentistry with his wife, Dr. Venssa Knight, for over 20 years.
Dr. Mike and Dr. Venssa were among the first dentists in the US trained in “laser tooth whitening”, and have treated well over 3500 whitening cases in their career with the BriteSmile and/or Zoom whitening systems. Dr. Mike also served as vice-president of one of the leading tooth whitening corporations between 1997-98 before returning to private practice in Park City. Dr. Mike has completed advanced post-graduate training under the prestigious Hornbrook Group and LVI. He is also trained/certified with the Versawave Erbium/YAG laser, and with the Six Month Smiles™ adult cosmetic orthodontic system.
Dr. Mike performs most of the patient exams (new patient and cleaning), emergency exams, and treatment planning in our practice. He also does some of the pediatric restorative dentistry, is the “Laser Doc” in the practice, and oversees all whitening cases. He is also the dentist in the practice who handles the Six Month Smile™ adult cosmetic orthodontic cases. He also works with Dr. Venssa on all large cosmetic and reconstructive cases. He is pretty much the “technology nut” in our practice, too!
When not at wor
k, Dr. Mike is busy with his 3 children (especially when it comes to their math homework!) He loves to ski, hike, fish, and bird hunt. His favorite “passion”, though, is cooking BBQ competitively on a professional circuit. His team – consisting of Dr. Mike, Dr. Venssa, and their kids – is known as “Hoochie Que”, and has won numerous awards. “Hoochie-Que” was invited to compete at the pretigious Jack Daniels World Championship BBQ contest in Lynchburg, TN, in 2009.
